Our client’s brief:

Our client envisioned a kitchen that was both highly functional and inviting—featuring central seating for social gatherings, a luxurious deep colour palette, and a seamless transition into the new extension to create a cohesive living space.

We recommended our Norway-style kitchen, incorporating elegant curved solid Walnut doors to enhance flow and comfort. To achieve the rich, luxurious aesthetic the client desired, we selected Orchard Walnut, a sustainably sourced wood from trees that could no longer bear fruit and needed to be removed. Rather than going to waste, this timber was repurposed, preserving its natural beauty while minimising environmental impact.

Beyond sustainability, Orchard Walnut naturally sequesters carbon, helping to reduce the home’s overall carbon footprint while adding warmth, depth, and character to the space.

To further unify the kitchen with the new extension, we designed a curved glass and walnut balustrade alongside a gracefully curved staircase. We also integrated a sandstone central fire feature to conceal the support column, blending functionality with architectural beauty.

The result? A seamless, sophisticated, and environmentally conscious space that perfectly meets our client’s needs.
