Our client’s brief:

Set within a 200-year-old farm, this project embraced the building's original character, including its thick stone walls and small windows, all while contending with the challenges of the surrounding countryside. Our aim was to introduce a contemporary feel that complemented, rather than contrasted with, the existing architectural style. By installing roof lights in the small extension, we flooded the kitchen with natural light, which beautifully illuminated the reflective surface and charm of the Elm. The walls were finished in a soft Swedish White emulsion, striking a perfect balance between modern brightness and the rustic charm of the space, creating a harmonious atmosphere.
